New Platform For Photographers
Founded in 2020, this brand new unique platform called Rent The View is now available for us travellers and photographers!
It was founded by an architecture/cityscape photographer who realized that there wasn’t something like this available before. As a photographer or traveller, you are likely always on the look out for new unique locations and different angles for your photos. This platform allows us to rent views from hosts on an hourly basis is perfect for that!
This start up so far has a collection of views available to rent in the Netherlands, but they are growing fast! Check below to become a host yourself too.
Who Can Join Rent The View?

What Is A View Worth Sharing?
So you are probably wondering, do you qualify with your view for Rent The View?
For guests (who would most likely be photographers or travellers), they would love to enjoy a view that is unique to that location. This doesn’t mean that you have live in a penthouse with 360° views as it’s not just about the height. Hosts should have a cool, cityscape, architectural, interesting view that is unique to that location. Whether the view is of something important, such as a pretty bridge or city center, to a beautiful landscape. You could live in a city area with the skyline around you, to a quirky industrial location with abandoned buildings. It’s all about the view!
How Does It Work?
Rent The View is a pretty easy platform to use for both hosts and guests. All you need to do is make a profile and either rent your view or rent someone else’s view. It’s pretty easy!
This is on an hourly basis so as a host you can share your view with guests for minimum 1 hour. This allows the guest to book that hour to enjoy that view, whether the guest want to take photos or time-lapses, to just having the opportunity to see that location from another view!

Rent The View – Hosts Vs Guests
As a host, if you have a view worth sharing that others would love as much as you do, you can easily add it to the website. Just by creating an account, you can share your view with a picture to advertise. You can also share if there is a balcony, window only and what floor you are located. Lastly of course is to add a small price that guests can pay to visit. This shouldn’t be a crazy amount, but if you have an amazing view, then keep it in mind what others would want to pay to see it (and take photos!).
This is all completely free to join and in no way do you need to pay for adding your location to the website. However you can of course make money by renting your view on the hourly basis. Keep in mind not to put the price too high, as its got to be interesting and worth it for a guest to book it too.
As a guest, you will need to make an account on Rent The View first. This will allow you to be able to rent the view you wish to visit. It’s easy to set up your profile, with just your email and phone number needing to be verified. The system is super easy and you just follow the steps to complete all.
Once you have it set up (including payment), you can request someones view by going to the listing and choosing a time slot and date. Here you will request the view, for the host to approve. Once they approve, you will get the address and are free to chat the host via the messaging area for any further questions.
So far there are already hosts renting their view in cities of the Netherlands, but it wont be long till it expands in other countries – and you can join it too!
