A Rotterdam helicopter tour could be booked during the Wereld Haven Dagen festival for 2018. Flying above Rotterdam was an AMAZING experience, looking down to the city skyline. The flight was only 16 minutes but felt like much longer! Spotting the famous Erasmusbrug, Euromast, De Hef and even our house!
Rotterdam Helicopter Tour
During Wereld Haven Dagen there were helicopter tours available for the public. We booked two spots as soon as we saw the helicopter excursions advertised on the festival website! It was an excursion for a 16 minute flight to fly above the festival and back to where we started. The weather was pretty cloudy but luckily the rain had held off until after we had our flight. The clouds were pretty high too so we had clear views looking down! It was a little bumpy with the wind but with all the adrenaline this didn’t make any of us feel sick.
My Dutchie was placed in the front of the helicopter, as they decide where you sit based on your weight. He was also the tallest out of the 4 of us, allowing him to benefit from the extra leg room and front seat views! The other couple had never been in a helicopter before. They seemed more nervous than us. We had once flown in a helicopter at the Grand Canyon in the US so we had some experience and what to expect.
We took off with Helicentre near the EIC Mainport Rotterdam Museum near Rozenburg, giving us an awesome skyline view into the city. During the flight we could hear communication between Rotterdam airport and other aircrafts in close proximity, as well as able to talk to each other inside the helicopter.
The views from the helicopter were AMAZING! Enjoy our photos – these were some of the best ones!

Summary Rotterdam Helicopter Tour
A special thanks* to Wereld Haven Dagen and Helicentre for organising these helicopter excursions during the weekend events. The staff were amazing and the pilot talked throughout the flight and answered our questions. We would highly recommend a Rotterdam Helicopter Tour if you are local and have the opportunity to book a helicopter above the city. Or even in a place where you live!
