Travel Sustainable Hotels In The Netherlands

Looking for a location a little more sustainable in the Netherlands to stay at? These travel sustainable hotels in the Netherlands have been recommended by locals who have had the opportunity to stay at them.

What Is A Travel Sustainable Hotel?

In short, a travel sustainable hotel is where they maintain tourism without harming cultural or natural environments. This could be in the form of recycling, using energy efficient lighting, solar panels, as well as if the hotel uses locally grown food, local staff and and local resources.

Travel Sustainable Badge On Booking.com

As of November 2021, Booking.com added the travel sustainable badge that hotels can now include on their profiles. Booking shares that their new badge helps eligible properties attract more potential guests looking to travel sustainably. This means that travellers can search on their account all properties with the badge, which is given to properties who have had the impact of their sustainability practices assessed through the Booking’s independently verified criteria model.

This was implemented by Booking after they had many surveys and feedback sessions, which shared that 73% of travellers say they would be more likely to book a property with sustainability practices in place, but also that 41% don’t know how to find sustainable travel option. Travel Sustainable Hotels In The Netherlands

Fletcher Hotel – Amsterdam

The Fletcher Hotel in Amsterdam may not be a central location to sightseeing, but its a decent hotel that is great for visiting Amsterdam by car, as they have plenty of parking spots. The hotel is welcoming and each room has an easy design.

For something to eat and drink, the hotel offers some nice choices, with the bar at the top of the building being great for enjoying a cocktail with the view of Amsterdam skyline in the distance.

The most unique thing about this hotel is circular design and the room showers. The showers represent the building design, with them being right in the middle of your room. Can make it a pretty fun evening for those who enjoy showing together!

Sir Adam Hotel, Amsterdam

If you’re looking for an eco-sustainable hotel in the Dutch capital that is also full of character, then Sir Adam Hotel is the one for you!

This music-themed 4-star hotel was the perfect base for my 40th birthday weekend in Amsterdam.

All rooms at Sir Adam Hotel offer spectacular panoramic views of Amsterdam and the IJ River that make waking up here an experience in itself.

One of the coolest things about this hotel is that all rooms come with a record player and a selection of vinyl records. There’s also a music library downstairs where you can choose the best soundtrack for your stay.

Besides all the usual amenities, my big deluxe room had an electric guitar, an espresso machine, and, most importantly, a very comfy bed.

Breakfast was simply delicious, including a rich buffet plus à la carte dishes.

Sir Adam Hotel is located in the iconic A’dam Tower, in Amsterdam Noord, just a short and free 2-minute ferry drive from the city center.

Best Western Hotel, Groningen

We, Alexander and Cynthia from Travel your Memories, stayed in the Best Western Hotel in Groningen in the summer of 2021! Firstly, the city Groningen is a great city to discover. An important aspect to have a nice trip is the accommodation you are staying, Best Western Hotel does everything it can to make your stay a success. We liked the service. On arrival, they take all the time to help you. In addition, they can give detailed tips about things to do in Groningen but also outside the city. They always help you with a smile, really great!

We had booked a standard double room and were very satisfied. The beds are very good and there is enough space. The other facilities such as the bathroom and drinks in the room are also great. An additional advantage for people who travel by car is that you can park the car under the hotel for a small extra charge. We really recommend staying in this hotel, we can’t say anything negative about it!

Bilderberg Parkhotel, Rotterdam

The Bilderberg Parkhotel has a great central location for exploring the city of Rotterdam. Within walking distance from Rotterdam Central Train Station, find yourself enjoying a stay here for a city trip.

The hotel has a clean, sleek design throughout with the all rooms being very spacious. Check in was very smooth and the service is really good. Since my stay was during covid, everything was well organised, keeping distance, clean belongings and rules were kept well.

I personally stayed here for my birthday and was surprised with a free bottle of red wine, which we very much enjoyed while eating a late night room service of pizza after a whole day of exploring the city.

The unique part about this hotel is the skyline view of Rotterdam that it has to offer. There are rooms with the skyline view towards the city center or towards the river. Both are amazing views and great for making a time lapse of the city lights and weather!

nHow Rotterdam, Rotterdam

The nHow is a hotel chain that can be found in many cities, but the nHow in Rotterdam is pretty special. Located on the Wilhelminapier in Rotterdam South, its the prefect location for beautiful skyline views towards the city center. Each room has a simple by cosy design, with huge beds with the most comfiest sheets.

For breakfast, find yourself enjoying their choices while planning your day ahead for the city. The options are deliciously fresh and plenty to choose from based on your dietary needs. Else to sleep in and relax with some music on before starting the day.

Before heading back to sleep after a long day, enjoy a cocktail or two with the night skyline from the bar. Its a great place!

Carlton Beach, Scheveningen

Carlton Beach is the perfect hotel to stay in when you want to enjoy the beach. It’s located only 50 meters from the beach. We stayed in a Superior Family Room and had lots of space. Our view was on the dunes. We had rain and wind, so we went for a walk on the boulevard. Which is perfect at Scheveningen.

We loved having our own electric kettle to make coffee and tea. We have a fully electric car, so the hotel having hook ups for this was convenient. The next day we drove off with a fully charged car. Due to the restrictions in place at the time, we couldn’t make use of the restaurant, brasserie or swimming pool. We however had dinner served at our room and it was delicious.

The famous pier of Scheveningen is within 5 minutes walking distance and Scheveningen has lots of different restaurants on offer.
